Bringing in the New Year with the (new to us) 2018 Thor Hurricane RV. We have stayed at Periwinkle Park before, but never in a motor home or with a quality camera. For a full review of the park, please see the older page from Periwinkle Park, Sanibel. We are trying to get some great shots for our walls! From a camping perspective, there are true benefits over the 5th wheel. Parking was a breeze with the cameras and size. Set up was quick and a pull-through site was no longer necessary. The drawbacks were having the expense of adapting my car to be towed and the learning curve for driving a big box down the highway at 70 mph. But we will see how things go with future trips. Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives. Sanibel Island/Captiva were as breath taking as usual. Periwinkle Park was just as clean and inviting as the previous time we were there. Thank goodness the Hurricane did little to no damage one of our favorite places in Florida. Great place to visit- I highly recommend this island outside of Fort Myers.
**Warning to all campers looking to upgrade to a Class A. Test drive your rig well, especially on the open highway. I recommend a diesel pusher due to the weight. The light-weight gas models really get blown all-over.
