Pontchartrain Landing Waterfront RV Park, New Orleans, LA

Destination:
Pontchartrain Landing Waterfront RV Park, New Orleans, LA

Review:
Wow! This was a great waterfront get-a-way just a short shuttle ride to New Orleans. We traveled to this destination in July 2018 with the fifth wheel. The location was an easy in and out for large rigs right off of I-10. It is located near abandoned industry I assume left over from Katrina, but if you feel like you took a wrong turn due to the abandoned Yacht builder and Factories, then you are probably going in the right direction. We did not need to fight downtown traffic or crazy narrow streets to arrive or leave the park. With almost all highway driving from Lagrange, GA, this makes for a great trip and destination for Marti Gras. We split it into a two day drive, but you can make it in 5- 6 hours pulling a camper. Book early for spot availability.

We loved this park. The R.V. resort is directly on the river. It offers stick built floating homes, condos, and numerous sizes of camping sites. Some are pull-through, but the waterfront ones are back in only. It was a bit tight, but worth it. Cell-phone signal was excellent and there is cable available. There is a nice camp store which offers boat rentals, day-trips and a good selection of camping essentials. There is a restaurant on site with a full bar and menu. A very nice pool with a waterfall with a separate hot tub are available for campers. There is a shuttle service to downtown New Orleans for only $6.00 per person. This was wonderful as we did not have to find parking for the dually truck downtown! Word of advice, unless you know the streets of New Orleans, take the shuttle! We visited Bourbon Street and all the tourist locations. I had never been to New Orleans before. We plan on visiting again soon.

Crossing the waterways Louisianna.
We are ALMOST there!

Really cool drive from Georgia to Louisianna.

The roads are gravel and dirt. Here is a view

The pool is located right outiside the bar.
