April 6, 2019
Location: West Point Lake, Lagrange, GA

West Point Lake, What a DUMP!!!
A day of cleaning garbage out of West Point Lake and the Chattahoochee River.

The experience was so eye opening that I wrote a Letter to the Editors of Troup County, GA, Lanett and Valley Alabama - my first publication ran in three papers, made a video and opened a Twitter account.... every little bit of awareness is great! See the links and video below. I have promised myself to that I will do my part to share these images and promote an awareness to this hush-hush, kept-quiet problem in Troup County. Please help me share these via Twitter, Facebook or any social media method in which you feel necessary. This is posted by stephanie.scott@sunseaandsurf on Twitter.

Lagrange Daily News   (They changed my title, wonder why? :) 😏

Litter surrounded and covered in logs
89 garbage bags in less than 2.5 hours

Garbage as far as you can see
Volunteers hard at work!

Trash EVERYWHERE.
Super people doing their part!

Just for fun... this was not emergent enough!
2nd load from the first cove

Third load from the first cove.

This is a great way to spend a Saturday Morning in April.
Had to smile.

2nd cove, even worse than the first.
This is floating garbage (at least 10 feet out)
Making progress, running out of bags and room on the boat.
A cleaner shore behind us....

These were a great group of volunteers.
Several pickup truck loads, over 89 bags of garbage
and tons of garbage is still left in West Point Lake.
